Wandering Oak brings you:
• Paddy Steer • (UK / the cosmos)
Manchester's magician of analogue electronics, 21st-century Moondog and king of space jazz touches down in the Ouseburn's most intoxicating party space!
A highly versatile and anarchically intrepid creator, Paddy's live performances err more daringly and admirably on the frontier of chaotic abstraction, in a madcap joyride through lounge, romp, deep groove and furry electronic invention.
As a live entity he's playful, visually arresting and gleefully infectious, as from behind his stacked array of instruments he gargles through a vocoder with his xylophone, all a-clatter under disco lights and doilies. It feels akin to playing and winning a computer game made from reality, to hear. He will do things to your brain!

• The Smokin' Coconuts •
The 4 to 6 horsemen of the gonzo world punk apocalypse are coming to lay waste to your inhibitions - guaranteed to deliver a unique and sleazy party-starting / world-ending cocktail of reggae, klezmer, calypso and latin rhythms, all wrapped up in a great big bow of psychedelic, kick arse, garage energy imbued with the distinct aroma of Coconut...!
• Bert Verso •
A Grey Tape in isolation and revered local DJ, Bert Verso’s original productions are informed by his endless search for the perfect beat. No laptops in sight here, Verso has always felt drawn to make music on hardware samplers, synths and drum machines. A hiphop head and master of the seminal Akai MPC, his early work weaves boombap beats with samples from his expansive record collection. His current work retains a similar aesthetic whilst channelling a longlasting love for Kraftwerk and Detroit Techno. If you like melodic drum machine workouts you have most definitely come to the right place.
