Anchorsong – aka Masaaki Yoshida – has become globally recognised for his unique live shows, which many people have described as “like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas”, as he creates electronic music completely live using a sampler (MPC2500) and a keyboard, right in front of the audience.

Since his relocation to Europe in late 2007, Anchorsong has supported Bonobo, Prefuse 73, DJ Krush, Daedelus, Gonjasufi, Jaga Jazzist and more, and performed at many prestigious venues including Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Roundhouse in London. This summer he has played a variety of festivals including one of our favorites Shambala.

Following a blinder at Northern Electric Festival with his band Grey Tapes, Bert Verso returns to Cobalt with a live hardware set ahead of his forthcoming EP release. Expect bright synths, dusty samples and pure rhythmic dance floor energy.

He'll also be closing out the night with a DJ set after the main man Anchorsong. You can listen to Verso's eclectic radio shows on mixcloud.... and whilst he, and his radio shows are both pretty chill, rest assured we've witnessed him blow the roof off Cobalt on many occasions!!
